“As society and technology change, so does literacy (NCTE Digital Literacy position statement, 2019).” From books to onscreen text to digital media, students have more opportunities than ever before to access, interact and build new knowledge. Today’s classroom realizes the promise of technology and identifies new strategies to fuel critical consumption and comprehension. Using high-quality mentor tech we teach students to think across mediums and perspectives to understand the world. In this session, Kristin will guide attendees to update their reading pedagogy for a digital age and provide easy to implement minilessons that engage ALL students, spark curiosity, and promote joyful learning.
